Kami Turns 5

Kami my little adventurer turned 5 on May 24th.  She had a fun Adventure Party!  She got to invite her friends, go on an exploring hunt, open presents, and eat a fabulous fondant cake made by her Aunt Amy.  It was a perfect day to be outside and since school was out everyone just hung out and played.  I am so proud of Kami May she is growing up in so many ways and has such a fun personality with a great imagination.  She loves to figure things out on her own and loves to be apart of what I am doing.  I love it when she creates fun activities for her and Lydia.  I especially love her big hugs and when she lets me snuggle by her and read. She has such an excitement for life and expresses it in her own creative ways.

My little graduate!

Baylee graduated from Kindergarten and Montessori. How she is going to miss her wonderful teachers.  Mrs. Romney and Mrs. Merrill (her aunt).   She thoroughly enjoyed her kindergarten fun year.  Mrs. Romney was such a loving teacher.  Baylee liked the songs she learned and the spanish and sign-language.  It is hard to see her grow up so fast and that she is not going to be at my sister's wonderful Montessori classroom anymore.  It has been such an enriching safe environment and Baylee has just loved all the different works.  I am so glad she had those experiences there.

Kindergarten Luau

Okay so I am a little behind on my blog, but I am trying to get caught up with events that have happened the last 2 months.  Life is always moving along fast.

This is Baylee's kindergarten Luau, that only mom's were invited too.  I had fun going to watch her do the hula and the limbo.  Look at that limber girl!

Caleb 2 weeks

Here is Caleb at 2 weeks old.  Bright eyed and awake!  It's been fun having little boy outfits to put on him.

Funny Girl!

Lydia decided to paint her wooden chick, AND HER FACE!

Chelsey brought home her kitty and Lydia took it upon herself to give the kitty lots of love and attention.

Lydia does so many funny things that make me laugh.  Every once in a while I actually get a photo of it.  So here is a couple of them.

My Grandpa's Funeral!

So, one day out of the hospital and a new baby in arms, my family headed to the valley for my grandpa John Bevell's funeral.  I didn't want to miss it, and I am so glad I went.

He was such a dear grandpa to me and I have so many good memories of spending time with him.  As a kid I loved to watch him work in the yard and milk his cows.   We would have fun with him camping.   As an adult, he would take time to talk to me, hug my kids, and show his love in many ways.  He always had good advice to give and spent his life serving his family.  We especially felt his love as he was getting more and more weaker.  He would squeeze my hand and each one of my children's, and tell us we were special to him and he didn't want any "empty chairs"  in heaven.  He loved the gospel and we always new what he was pondering.  He was a hard worker, loved to serve, and loved his family.  I am so grateful to have a wonderful grandpa and am glad my husband and kids got to know him as well.
All the boys and men lined up as coffin was being carried.

Grandma Bevell and all her children

The girls each got to choose a flower from the funeral boquets

Baby Boy at last!

Well, the last three weeks of pregnancy definitely seemed like eternity.  I am pretty sure my stomach couldn't stretch any farther and bending was rather impossible.  So I was very excited when April 19 came around and Dave and I headed to the hospital for my scheduled c-section at 5:30am. Though all my kids have been delivered c-section this is the only one I actually had the date set and delivered on that day.   And it is still nerve racking in anticipation of the whole surgery process.

SO, here I am the last moments with the little tike still inside me.

And here he is! Caleb John Bowman 7lbs 9 oz, 20 in long born at 8:19 am.
(He wasn't named until the day we left the hospital.)
Thanks goodness we didn't get picts of the surgery process.  Dave got to come in and watch.  He is always facinated watching the surgery, especially when Dr. Tindall shows him my guts.  I told Dave he knows me inside and out. haha!  I am always so grateful when the whole process is over. Its physically and mentally stressful.  This time they had to do the spinal 2 times.  They had me all prepped and laid out to start the cutting when they did a final pinch test, and determined I could still fill everything. Oww!  Once I was finally numb, the rest of the procedure went smoothly and I am always excited to see the face of my little babe.  The funny thing is this time when Dr. Tindall lifted up my baby boy for me to see, the baby spit up all over my face.  I was pinned down to the table so Dave had to wipe my face with his sleeve. It was rather funny.

While I was getting sewed up, my mom and Dave got to spend an hour with little caleb.  It was a great blessing that my mom actually got to be in town for the event.  She was able to come from her mission because her dad was soon to pass away.  In fact, my Grandpa John Bevell passed away on the same day that Caleb was born.  We thought that was a special coincidence - one life coming and one life going.  So thats why Caleb has the middle name JOHN, after his great-grandpa.  A great name to live up to.

My first time to get to snuggle and cuddle him.  What a cutie pie!

Holding his own pacifier already!

A proud Daddy finally has himself a son!

Getting to go home.  I enjoy the time in the hospital to just spend time with Caleb.

He was welcomed home with lots of love and excitement from his 3 big sisters.

April 21st my birthday, and was the same day I got to take Caleb home.
What a great present!
Though still feeling weak, drugged,  and incapacitated, my family gave me a sweet birthday party, Amy made me a beautiful fondant cake and mom pampered me.  I felt well loved.
